18! Can you imagine being 18 and hearing that you have Cancer? 2017 Vernon graduate, Joanna Horn was just recently diagnosed with stage III Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. First semester, freshman year at Rutgers, Joanna went to the ER with what she thought was appendicitis. Unfortunately, she was very wrong.
Rob, a professor at Montclair State University and avid soccer coach in Warwick, and Connie, a well-loved Vernon kindergarten teacher, are still trying to come to terms with the news about their daughter. The Horns have devoted so much of their free time over the years giving to the surrounding community. Now its our turn to give back.
Nobody EVER wants to ask for help, but the Horns need us. Joanna, her parents and her two younger brothers have been traveling back and forth to Morristown Medical Center and will continue to as she begins chemo treatments. That means expenses for gas and meals on the road will quickly add up, becoming an additional burden beyond all of the medical expenses they are about to incur. If you can't donate, please send well wishes and prayers! XO
