Supporting the Bujold Family — In Memory of Stephane Bujold

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to Stephane Bujold, who passed away on October 28th, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. It is difficult to put into words the loss felt by those who knew and loved Steph. Above all, our hearts are with his wife, Jane, and their sons, Zach and Luc, as they face the unimaginable loss of a husband and father.

Steph was a devoted husband, a loving father, a respected member of the Russell and Metcalfe minor hockey communities, and a proud member of the Ottawa Police Service.

Over the years, Steph dedicated countless hours to minor hockey, making a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of the young players he had the privilege of coaching. He was admired and respected by his players, not only for his knowledge of the game, but also for the values he worked hard to instill in them.

Steph taught his players the importance of healthy living, teamwork, dedication, and perseverance. He encouraged his players to give back to their communities and to serve as positive role models and mentors, particularly for younger players. His lessons extended well beyond the rink, shaping upstanding young men.

Professionally, Steph was a proud 25-year veteran of the Ottawa Police Service. His dedication to serving his community was recognized with the Police Exemplary Service Medal, awarded by the Governor General of Canada. Similar to his involvement in minor hockey, at work Steph consistently demonstrated a commitment to helping others and making a positive difference in the lives of those around him.

Sorely missed, Steph's legacy will live on through his family, the players he coached, and the many people who had the privilege of knowing him.

We are creating this GoFundMe to support Jane, Zach, and Luc as they navigate life without Steph. Steph dedicated years of his life to helping young people become better players, better teammates, and better human beings. Now, it is our turn to rally around the family he loved so dearly.
