My name is Amy, and I am from Grande Prairie. My heart is deeply connected to this tragedy — both through extended family and simply through being a compassionate human who feels called to help when help is needed.

Jennifer Strang (Jacobs) is connected to me through extended family. Since this heartbreaking loss, I have not been able to stop thinking about her children and the difficult days ahead of them.

Jennifer was a single mother of five. There was no extra cushion, no hidden reserve waiting for moments like this. Now, her children are left to navigate grief, trauma, and enormous life changes all at once.

Thankfully, they have loving grandparents who have always shown up for them — steady, present, and devoted. They will now be the ones to carry these children forward, just as they always have. But stepping into this role fully, especially in retirement, comes with significant financial strain.

Funds raised will go toward:

• Funeral expenses for their mother and little brother (thank you TRPAC for taking care of this )

• Immediate living and household costs

• Therapy and trauma support for the children

• Ongoing needs as three growing children adjust to a new reality

This family is rooted in love and support. Now they need that love returned to them.
