Supporting Inuit Survivors: Centring Safety, Care, and Accountability
Across Inuit Nunangat, Inuit women and gender-diverse people are speaking up, quietly, bravely, and together… to say that the silence must end.
For too long, harm has gone unchecked. People who have caused violence or harassment have been protected by positions of power, while survivors have been left without the safety or support they deserve.
The #InuitMeToo movement was born from that truth. Love for our people, our families, and our future generations.
This fundraiser is about giving survivors access to what every person deserves: safety, justice, and care.

What these funds will support
The money raised will go directly toward helping Inuit survivors of sexual assault and sexual harassment retain legal support.
Funds will be used to:
Cover legal fees and consultations for survivors seeking advice or representation
Support those navigating reporting through the RCMP, Human Rights Tribunals, or workplace channels
Provide safe, confidential access to legal guidance for Inuit women and gender-diverse people
No one should have to face these systems alone. This support allows survivors to move forward with strength, on their own terms.

Building safer systems for our people
If funds remain after supporting survivors, they will be used to retain a lawyer to develop and recommend policy changes for Inuit organizations.
These policy recommendations will focus on:
Ensuring people with histories of violence or harassment do not hold leadership positions
Creating independent, survivor-centred reporting processes
Protecting whistleblowers and survivors from retaliation
Embedding safety and accountability into Inuit governance structures
This work is not about blame, it’s about responsibility. It’s about making our institutions reflect the care, respect, and integrity that define us as Inuit.

Our vision
We are doing this because we believe in a future where Inuit women and gender-diverse people feel safe, in their workplaces, in their communities, and in their lives.

#InuitMeToo is not just about naming harm — it’s about creating safety, building trust, and strengthening our communities from the inside out.
Every contribution helps someone find their footing again. Every act of solidarity helps us move toward healing. Together, we are laying the groundwork for change: steady, rooted, and real.

Transparency and accountability
A small working group connected to the #InuitMeToo movement will oversee the distribution of funds. Survivors will always be prioritized, and any remaining funds will go toward policy and governance reform.
Regular updates will be shared to maintain transparency and community trust.

A message from our hearts
To every survivor: you are not alone. You are seen, believed, and valued.
To everyone standing beside us: thank you for choosing care over silence, and courage over comfort.
Together, we can build something safer, stronger, and deeply rooted in who we are as Inuit.
