My name is Stephen Crawford.
For more than 30 years, I have worked with Robert Wilson and the Watermill Center — creating installations, restoring artworks, and caring for Wilson's extensive art collection. For over 20 years, I also built many of his iconic art chairs for museum and gallery exhibitions, including The Meek Girl Chair, The Bamboo Throne, and A Chair with Shadow from Parzival, among others.
I am now being treated for prostate cancer. The medical costs, along with everyday living expenses during treatment, have become hard to carry on my own. Alongside my conventional care, I'm also exploring integrative therapies—including acupuncture, Tibetan medicine, and additional specialized cancer treatments to support my recovery. Many of these treatments are not covered by insurance and require significant out-of-pocket expenses.
This fundraiser will help with:
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Living expenses while treatment limits my ability to work
- Possibly travel and treatment costs for NK cell therapies.
Any contribution, no matter how small, means a great deal. And if you're not able to give, simply sharing this fundraiser is a real help too.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Stephen Crawford
