Support Wyatt's Cancer Surgery and Recovery

Unfortunately I’m writing for a heartbreaking update. My sweet little cowboy has been diagnosed with cancer. It came as quite a shock and a devastating blow to my heart when I got the call. Especially since the original mass years ago did not test positive for cancer and was removed but I’ve always kept an eye on that spot just in case. Unlucky for us, the tests came back positive for cancer. He has 1 exterior visible mass, 2 interior masses and it has now spread to his lymph node in his hip. The vet said he is lucky because it has not spread into his lungs or heart. You would never know this go getting little muppet was struggling with anything none the less an extreme illness. No matter what, he has been through he still keeps going and with so much joy…and sass. The oncologists are very positive with the surgery removals! Which is a great thing to hear so we are moving forward with surgery. Hoping he'll snap right back to begging everyone in the office for treats, bacon, cheese or any other forms of food just like his mother.

I called so many pet insurance companies to seek aid but all refused him because when I found him “it was an ongoing / existing medical issue” and they would not cover his treatment plan, the cancer testing, cancer treatment or the surgeries. His testing bill alone was $2,100.00 and his surgeries will be around $8,000.00. Plus the treatment plan after we see how he fairs with the removals. In total most likely it will be over $10,000.00 for just the initial cancer removal. He is a little fighter, a floof of spunk and my sassy cowboy. He is my perfect combo. A toothless wonder of perseverance and strength. He will be going into surgery Tuesday, July 29th and we will go from there for his recovery and then figure out his treatment plan down the line.

When I found him dumped on the highway almost 2 years ago exactly, I was able to fight to get him the treatment and surgeries he needed. He was in such a dismantled state and they only gave me two weeks before he would pass. Now here we are, two years later and he just keeps on truckin’. You would never guess he was almost near death and fought his way out of it.

Those that know me well know my three little animals, all rescues, are my companions that I hold so close to my heart. They have all come at times when I really needed them, some of my lowest moments, heartbreaks and struggles and I think I found them at the times they needed me too. I’ve been struggling myself with some severe health issues of my own, in and out of the hospital, sick and in pain off and on, testing, scans, emergency room visits, collapsing at work, cancer screenings…it’s been a lot this year already and it’s unfortunately ongoing and so are the medical bills.

I’m writing to seek some aid again for my sweet Wyatt. He means the world to me and we have such a bond. The moment I finally caught him on the side of the road, he looked up at me and it’s like he knew. He didn’t try to bite me, he didn’t growl…it’s like he knew I was going to be his person and I knew I would be his forever. The day I went to pick him up after some recovery, APA said he wasn't responding to anyone but when he heard and saw me with his one good eye…he was like a puppy again and knew I was coming back for him. I love my little survivor with my whole heart.

So if you can donate, share, like or just spread the word. We would be grateful in any capacity you have. I will also be trying to post new items to my website shop to raise more money as I focus on helping the little nugget recover from surgery at home.

Love and much thanks,
Shaina & Wyatt
