Support William's 4-H Nationals Journey

Annually, 4-H youth participate in various shooting sports programs, offering disciplines such as shotguns, compound and recurve archery, air rifle, .22 rifle, and muzzleloaders. The National 4-H Shooting Sports competition is held in Grand Island, Nebraska. To qualify, participants must succeed at county/regional levels and the state expo, recently held in Fallon, NV. They are then limited to competing in one discipline per year and cannot compete in that discipline again.

This year, each state 4-H program could select four competitors per discipline for the National competition. Lyon County 4-H is sending four shotgun and two archery competitors from Nevada’s 17 counties. These youth demonstrate commitment not only in shooting sports but also through significant contributions to community service events. William has been selected as one of the archery competitors this year.

William has been an active member of the Central Lyon 4-H Club for over 7 years. He has held many officer positions such as president and participated in many of the clubs raising livestock, advanced arts & crafts, shotguns, archery, and many of the leadership activities. William’s dream has always been to become a veterinarian and has recently been accepted to University of Nevada - Reno’s Veterinary Science program and the Nevada Army National Guard before moving on to his Veterinarian program. He has accomplished all of this while working part-time at the local vet clinic, gaining valuable experience over the last 4 years.

William and the other Lyon County competitors are trying to raise $1000 each to cover their trip expenses and would appreciate any support possible to help him attend this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in the 4-H Shooting Sports Nationals Competition.
