A 25-year-old man was killed in a traffic accident on Browns Ferry Road Monday morning.

According to Georgetown County Coroner Chase Ridgeway, Tyler Harter died in the accident that occurred at around 8 AM near the intersection with Amos Road.

Ridgeway said Harter was alone in his vehicle and driving on Browns Ferry Road when he crossed the center line and hit an 18-wheeler. Harter died on the scene. The truck driver was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.

This is the second tragic accident to happen to the family this year. In March, William Whitnauer, 45, died in an accident while on the property of Santee Cooper’s Winyah Generating Station.

He was the fiancée of Tyler Harter’s mother, Kellie Ward Harter.
