Support Trevor's Battle Against Liver Cancer

Hi all,

We are Nina & Derek, and our dear friends, Amy & Paul Latsch were just given news no parent should ever hear. That their beautiful 7 month old son Trevor has been diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma - a rare (1 in ONE MILLION) liver cancer.

Trevor is an extremely special boy. He is smiley, happy, and the sweetest baby ever. What makes him even more special is that he is Amy & Paul's "rainbow baby". For those of you who don't know, a rainbow baby is a baby that is born after a loss.

On January 17th, 2022 Amy & Paul lost their sweet twin girls Hannah & Hailey. 4 months later is when we met them after joining SHARE Groups of Edward-Elmhurst Health because we experienced our own loss of our daughter Sophia. We became fast friends after bonding over our similar traumatic stories so their joy when welcoming Trevor to the world meant a great deal to us.

When Trevor made his debut, he had to spend about 3 scary weeks in the NICU, so we already know he (and his parents) are warriors! However, they need our support right now.

The tumor on Trevor's liver is currently too large to operate on, so he has started his first round of chemotherapy to try and shrink it to a size that is safe for surgery. The hope is that it can be shrunk in two rounds and be completely surgically removed, followed up by more rounds of chemotherapy, and then remission. But it'll be a long & scary road to get there. Trevor is being treated at Lurie Children's in Chicago, so Amy & Paul will be doing a lot of driving back and forth and occasional stays at the hospital throughout Trevor's treatment. They will need help with all the expenses that go along with having a sick baby. Gas, tolls, parking, food, medical bills, time away from work for Paul, etc.

Amy & Paul are the two kindest people you will ever meet and they have already been through more than any two people should have to go through in a lifetime. If we can help shoulder some of the financial burden during this unimaginable time for them, we know it would really help take one tiny worry off their plate so they can focus on Trevor. It truly takes a village and in times like this, they need their village to lift them up in prayer, support, positive thoughts, healing energy and love.
