Hello, my name is Janet Morales Cuevas, and I am writing on behalf of my dad, Ricardo Morales.

On May 22, 2025, around 7:00 a.m., my dad was detained by ICE while on his way to work in our apartment parking lot. My dad has always been a man who works tirelessly—every single day—to provide for his family. He has lived in the United States for 21 years, paid his bills on time, and contributed to the community through his work as a cook, landscaper, and mechanic.

He came to this country with one goal: to give his family a better life. He is a man with a generous heart who would help anyone in need, even when he was struggling himself. Throughout my entire childhood, he has been my biggest supporter and the person I looked up to every day.

On November 12, 2025, after being detained for six long months, my dad attended his final immigration hearing. That day, the judge ordered his removal from the U.S. This news has been devastating for our family. He is now separated from my mother, my brother, and me, and we are doing everything we can to fight for him and stay strong during this incredibly painful time.

We are kindly asking for help from friends, family, and our community to cover legal fees and basic expenses during this difficult period.
