I wanted to reach out on behalf of our long-term family friends of ours Lorraine and daughters Megan and Hannah Halpin. The Halpin’s lost their husband and Dad very suddenly and unexpectedly on February 17 2023. As if this devastating, life-changing blow wasn't enough - four weeks to the day later, the entire basement was flooded by an overflow from the drains with all the ensuing water damage. In normal circumstances Paul would've dealt this horrible situation. Fortunately they had house insurance which will cover most of the interior damage. However the cause of the entire problem was from tree and its roots situated in the front yard, which have grown through the sewer pipe breaking down the pipes - not covered by any insurance. The resulting damage has cost an estimated $20 000+ for the repairs. Both of these circumstances have caused very unexpected out of pocket costs for the Halpin’s. We appreciate any small gesture of kindness to help our friends. Paul was often helping those in need and wouldn’t think twice to do something for a friend without any means of repayment.
