Donation protected
Our mission is to raise the funds to enhance the Rip Van Winkle Park by building a new concrete skatepark in Tannersville in place of the existing park to encourage outdoor activity, enhance community connection, and promote healthy lifestyles. The skatepark will serve as a vital space for skateboarders, BMX riders, and rollerbladers of all skill levels, providing an opportunity for people to engage with each other in a safe and inclusive environment.
This project is inspired by Danny Legg, a loved member of the community whose passion for skateboarding aided in the building of the current park.
Danny Legg was a friend to all and spent most of his youth at the skatepark. He was a huge part of getting the current one built in the first place, and he inspired many generations below him to start skating. If you were one of the lucky ones to know him, to skate with him, you could feel the light pour from him; you’ve experienced his endless stoke and his endless love for the sport. To him and many others, the skatepark was a second home, a place he felt welcomed, loved, and connected to those around him. We hope to create an environment again where others can feel this same joy, this same sense of belonging. A place to free the mind and feed the soul.
