Hello, my name is Tammie Clark. My nightmare began on December 30th, 2024. My mom passed away on that day from lung cancer. She was my whole world. I have a brother that too passed from lung cancer. Upon Mama's passing, I had to come up with her crematory balance of $2,700. She sat waiting till I could get everything squared away, which was about 4 to 6 weeks. I was Mama's POA, responsible for her before and after death. She was a single parent who dedicated her life to us. Now it was my turn to be there for her like God would've wanted. I bought a Fifth Wheel Coachmen RV for $10,000 cash right before that. I had to make the decision not to get insurance right then due to Mama's passing. A decision to take care of Mama would be life-changing for me. Little did I know how much so.

On March 3rd, 2025, a company I hired ($750) to transport my RV to Made In The Shade RV Park in Granville, Tennessee. I made many calls to different companies to make sure I got the best one that insured my RV during the trip. I wanted to make sure not only my RV was safe but everyone was too. We Transport It was the name of the company. They picked my RV up at 4 pm Monday afternoon. Upon arriving at the RV Park, they were instructed where to set it up. I paid $734 to stay for a month. That was the monthly fee. I was gonna reside there indefinitely. Unfortunately, under a rotten huge tree that I found out later had been struck by lightning a year prior to the incident.

On Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 (the day after arriving), there were really high winds most of the day into the next. Before 9 pm, a tree fell onto the edge of a house and the front porch. The front porch was destroyed. That was right beside my RV, no more than 25 yards. I went over and asked if they needed any help. After returning inside, I fixed dinner and cleaned up the kitchen. When I finished, I took my 4 little dogs and went to my room where I sat on my bed drawing and watching a movie. Close to 10 pm, I heard a noise I will never forget. That was the scariest moment I had ever experienced. All in 5 seconds, my RV was destroyed, and we were blessed to be alive. Only by God's graces. Myself and my furbabies were in shock. Everything changed in that instance. I will never get over this. My little dogs have been affected too. Our lives will forever be changed. The residents came running to my aid. I couldn't get the front door open. Someone snatched it open finally. I was shaking and crying uncontrollably. My dogs were shaking. My heart broke for them. The people who reside at the park then told me the tree had been struck by lightning a year prior. Penny, the Park Manager, was called to the scene. She was instructed that she needed to do something about these rotten trees. She said, "I have a bid on them." I understand tree removal can be costly. However, death has no price. We're very fortunate that we are alive. God was with us. Penny instructed me that I was at fault for not having insurance. I explained to her about my mom and that given a few more days, I would've gotten insurance for the RV. I could not turn my back on my mother. She was an exceptional woman, my best friend. I was also told by Catherine (Owner Assistant) I was irresponsible for not having insurance and the park was not responsible in any way. She continued to tell me it was an "Act of Nature." However, being neglectful in maintaining maintenance on the trees surrounding these RVs is highly dangerous. If I was blessed to own an RV Park, I would do everything in my power to ensure the safety of my residents and their RVs.

On March 4th, 2025, I was told by Penny that she had a building I could store my salvageable items for 30 days, giving me time to come up with the money for storage. On March 5th, 2025, I returned to Granville at the park to clear out my things to put in the building Penny and company were letting me use. My daughter and son-in-law came to help get everything out. At 2:45 pm, Penny came over and instructed me that I could no longer use the building. I started crying and asking why. She said someone had informed them I was taking legal action. I advised her I wasn't and asked, "Who told you that?" She was very rude and hurtful. There was a man and his crew working across the street on remodeling a house, and the woman of the brother that owned the house the tree fell on came over, giving me $100 each. I then took that money and rented a U-Haul. By 4:45 pm, we had everything out and loaded. I was also told I could not come back on their property. Not knowing what I was going to do now with my belongings, I was told numerous times, "That wasn't my problem." I still don't know what I'm gonna do. My money is gone, I have no home, and I'm scared to death. I have been lied to numerous times by the park's employees. I was awesome until this happened. Now I'm nothing. I had instructed Penny before I ever moved that I needed a change in scenery due to Mama's passing. I was told that I lied about not having insurance. When I spoke to Penny, she had 2 requirements: 1st - send pictures of the RV. I guess because it was a 2002. I instructed her it was in immaculate condition. 2nd - wash the RV before arriving. I followed both her requirements. The night of losing my RV, Penny contacted Made In The Shade RV Park in Only, Tennessee, where they gave me an 8x10 room. No TV, no nothing. Don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful and blessed to have a roof over my head. However, that park was 3 hours away. The tree also hit my 2016 Cherokee Jeep, breaking out my sunroof. I have several dents and scratches. That was a very scary and long wet ride. The wind and rain were coming inside due to the sunroof being out. My dogs were trying to get up and under the seats. I pray that one day soon they won't remember, me too... They also stated they helped me in every way possible. Getting my stuff out. No one helped get my things other than my daughter and son-in-law. One other person who lives at the park came over to assist me with getting my things out for less than 30 minutes. That's all the help I received. I don't think any human being deserves to be treated like this. I don't understand why. This is really hard. I know I did what God would've wanted me to. I don't know how or where I will go. I do know that God will bless me for loving and honoring my Mom. She has always been there for me, and the choices I made, I would do it again. I wasn't any more irresponsible than the RV Park neglecting to cut down those rotten trees to ensure the safety of his or her park. I'm homeless now with no one to turn to. Mama is gone, and God knows I have no one to turn to. Over $15,000 gone in seconds. God is good...

Please donate to help buy me and my furbabies a cheap (used) RV. I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL AND BLESSED.

Sincerely,
Tammie Clark
