Support Ryan Camacho After Tragic Loss

My name is Salvatory Manirakiza RN, who was working with Ryan Camacho RN on the night of October 13th saving lives on 8th floor of the university Hospital. I have worked in this Hospital for 16 years now and has known Ryan for almost 3 years. He came to University from Methodist Hospital and brought to our floor the kind of energy, smile and leadership in a kindly approaching relationship. His smile was contagious, now I have been a charge RN on this floor for 10 years since 2010 to 2021 and decided to take a break as the mental fatigue took a tall on me. I remained a champion on precepting new RN joining the floor, but Ryan transformed me by asking me with a soft voice to charge again. Now on that Sunday night he was training me to charge again, and everything went great, at the end of shift, we hugged and wished well to each other and stated that he had to take his wife: "Julie Ann Felipe Camacho "to a doctor's appointment. They were expecting their first baby, a boy: "Raphael Fiyero Camacho" that they have been waiting impatiently. But things did not go well for my fellow friend RN. He entered his home to find his wife lifeless in the strangest situation that one can endure. The terrifying news caught us by Suprise on Facebook, as some of us arrived at work for a night shift. I reached out to him, and you know how hard it is, and I did not expect him to pick up and he did not the first time, I called him again, and we talked for 5 seconds, to ensure he was getting the emotional support he needed. Thank you to everyone who provided support to Ryan and who attended the services to say goodbye to Ryan's wife and his son. On the day of 10/28, I was mortified, I could not retain my emotional tears when I saw Ryan's wife holding hands with their son in the same casket. I still cannot imagine how Ryan Camacho managed to be there by the casket holding his wife and his son. Thanks to everyone who was there for Ryan. Now he has to take his wife and son to the final destination in the Philippines. After all this terrible situation that happened to our friend Ryan who has spent his life saving life of others, my question is how we deal with this to ensure he is not alone, with all the bills associated with the funeral and transport of the bodies to the Philippines, the mortgage payment and other bills, and not working for now and not to mention that he was still new to the hospital to have earned PTO to sustain this emergency, it is understandable how one can plunge into depression with so many why questions. Why me, why now, what's next, what do I have to live for now? While we cannot return to Ryan his beloved wife and boy, we can help him to realize that he is not alone and help alleviate the burden that this tragedy placed on him. That is why, I am reaching out to everyone to join this cause and chip in to help our fellow nurse notice that while he has dedicated his life at saving lives, there are also people who are appreciating and holding his back in this horrible situation. Thank you all and thank you for your help to ensure Ryan stays afloat. May God bless you all and bless your giving heart and the hand you extend to Ryan.
