A Letter from the Family -

We are a family of four from Nicaragua; my wife Gaby, our daughters Selena and Bella, and myself, Alex. We came to the United States in 2022 seeking safety, medical care, and the opportunity to build a future free from fear.

Our oldest daughter, Selena, lives with multiple severe disabilities and complex medical conditions, including microcephaly, developmental disabilities, and a severe neurological disorder that causes daily seizures. Although she recently turned 21 years old, her level of dependence is much closer to that of a young child.

Even while receiving advanced medical care in the US, Selena continues to experience multiple seizures every day. Her condition requires constant supervision, stability, specialized medical care, and uninterrupted access to medications and healthcare providers. Stability is not simply important for Selena - it is an essential medical necessity.

Since arriving in Pennsylvania, we have worked hard to become productive members of our community. At present I am the sole financial provider for our family and work through Uber and Lyft. Gaby is dedicated to the 24/7 care that Selena requires.

We are not seeking a life of dependence. We are seeking the opportunity to overcome extraordinary legal expenses that are beyond our current financial means. The legal protection we are pursuing would keep our family together and allow Selena to continue receiving the lifesaving care she depends on every day.

Every contribution will go directly toward legal representation and humanitarian protection for our family. This support is not about providing us with a lifestyle, it is about helping us overcome a legal obstacle that stands between our family and a stable future.

Our goal is simple: to live peacefully, work honestly, care for our daughters, remain together as a family, and become great contributors to the communities and society that have welcomed us.
