The Greencap Cm3 Assessor Team together with Online Solutions are raising money for our team member Nicole (from our assessor team) who recently was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer.
Last month, within one week, Nicole went from being the quiet achiever in our team, the one who gets the job done no matter what, to being forced onto long term sick leave and undergoing the most invasive kind of treatment possible for breast cancer. Nicole has always been on top of everything and suddenly she finds herself in an entirely different place.
Unsure what her future holds, she has undergone surgery and has just started chemotherapy. Her chemo and radiotherapy treatments will continue until the week before Christmas and she won’t be able to come back to work this year.
The assessor team is geographically dispersed but still manages to work closely together as a team. Nicole lives on the Gold Coast. She’s a single mum with a daughter, Keeley, aged 9, and also cares for her elderly mum, as her dad passed away late in 2018.
She has limited support and network around her, so we would love to do something practical to help Nicole get through this incredibly difficult year, and we would be so grateful if you could help us to help her. Of course there is no obligation on anyone, but we felt we wanted to share this with the Greencap community.
Contributions could help with keeping her household running, some food on the table and maybe get some help around the house with the jobs she can’t do. We can’t take away the side effects of chemo, or the post-surgical pain, or make this horrible disease go away any faster. But maybe we can take some of the pressure off and help give her back a little bit of hope that her financial future won’t be quite so grim. If we can reduce some of the stress, it may help her recovery.
We hear these stories all the time, but it is different when you hear of someone close going through this. So instead of buying your morning coffee, your take away lunch or a drink after work, feel free to donate and help cheer up our Greencap staff member as best as we can.
