Support Mitchell After Catastrophic Flood Loss
Donation protected
I'm raising funds for Mitchell Berge, a coworker and friend who just experienced a total loss due to the catastrophic flooding in West Allis this past weekend. His home was in one of the hardest-hit areas. Floodwaters completely filled his basement and rose two feet into his living space. The water damage was so severe it caused a section of the foundation to collapse—you could literally see into his basement through a hole in the side of the house.
One entire wall of the basement caved in, and the remaining water couldn’t be pumped out for fear it was the only thing keeping the rest of the structure from falling apart. The foundation failure also triggered a serious gas leak, and his entire front yard is now being excavated. On top of that, his newly purchased motorcycle and his truck were both flooded—it's still unknown if either is salvageable.
Mitchell, his girlfriend, and her daughter lost everything in a single night. They haven't even been able to enter the home to retrieve personal belongings due to the safety risks.
To make matters worse, like many others affected, his insurance company has denied his claim, citing no coverage for flash floods. He's still responsible for the mortgage on a home that’s no longer livable.
Despite the devastation, we’re grateful that everyone is physically okay—but emotionally and financially, this is overwhelming. Mitchell is not just our Production Manager—he's the go-to problem solver, the safety lead, the one everyone turns to in a crisis. Now, he’s the one who needs help. Him even allowing me to set this up shows the level of need he’s experiencing. The hopelessness.
Any amount you can give will go directly to helping Mitchell and his family begin to rebuild their lives. Thank you for showing support in this time of urgent need.
