Hello and thank you for clicking on this gofundme. It is started for a little girl Mira and her mother Israa Al-Drany , both surviving the war in Gaza, both injured, both waiting for medical evaluation.
Dr. Mimi Syed has treated Mira in Gaza and her story is featured in many news publications. Yet, we are still trying to get her evacuted to the USA for treatment. During this waiting Israa got a blast injury when their home was targeted, her leg was amputated below the knee. The leg is not healing well and she needs further surgery and prosthetic device.
Dr. Syed and Dr. Abbas started this gofundme to help with medical and life expenses once Mira and Israa are evacuated. We are both medical professionals in the United States, trying to do our part in this unprecedented crisis. Below is an episode where you can find more about this mission
We are working with doctors and hospitals in Texas who will be doing the treatment. Many providers are willing to offer services for free, but there are still hospital and prosthesis related expenses.
