Support Marissa's Journey for Justice and Closure

Hi everyone!

My name is Marissa Wilson and I reside in Sioux Falls, SD. In 2019 I was assaulted by a man in Alaska. I am one of three known victims of this man.

In April of 2019 I fled to the cops with his children in the early hours of the morning while he slept. He was beating us all and sexually assaulting me.

Since I left it has been a long, drawn out court battle until July 7, 2025, 2 weeks before trial was finally set to start. He asked for a plea deal. On July 15, he plead guilty to sexually assaulting me and the other victims.

The next step in sentencing on November 13, 2025.

The DA would have covered our cost to fly there for the trial but now with the deal, will not cover the cost for us to attend sentencing.

I am planning to read my victim impact statement myself and would prefer to do it in person. I want to face my abuser in court one time for closure.

Therefor I am asking for help to cover the cost of my plane ticket, one night stay, and my car rental needed to get me from Anchorage to Palmer and back again.

I will fly up on November 12, stay one night, read my statement on November 13 and fly out that night.
