Support Lyric's Recovery Journey

Hi, my name is Lyric. A few months ago, while in New Mexico, I suffered a gunshot wound to my leg, which shattered my femur and caused severe damage to my knee and lower leg. I underwent ORIF surgery for a tibial plateau fracture, but my recovery has been long and difficult. I’ve lost a significant amount of muscle due to being hospital-bound, and there is missing bone in my femur from the incident that complicates the healing process.

While I was still in the hospital, my job terminated me for being gone too long, leaving me without an income or the work-provided insurance that initially covered some of my medical expenses. Since then, I have been unable to walk, drive, or work. I’ve been searching for remote jobs to support myself, but I haven’t had any success yet. I am now on SoonerCare, which helps, but there are still many medical costs I can’t afford—deductibles, co-pays, ongoing treatments, and necessary physical therapy to regain my strength and mobility.

This injury has completely upended my life—I’ve lost my job, my ability to drive, and my independence—but I’m doing everything I can to rebuild. Thankfully, I still have my home, but without an income, staying afloat while continuing my treatment has become increasingly difficult. My goal is to regain self-sufficiency, go back to school, and start working toward a stable career. But right now, I need help to get back on my feet—literally.

I’ve been hesitant to ask for help sooner because I’ve distanced myself from friends and family over time, and reaching out hasn’t been easy. But at this point, I don’t have many options left. Any contribution, no matter how small, would make a huge difference. If you’re unable to donate, even sharing this with others would mean the world to me.

• Continued maintenance, including but not limited to - MRI’s, CT Scans, X Rays, Orthopedic Specialists / Sports Medicine Specialists, PT, Bloodwork Labs, Etc

• One month worth of my general costs of living (Car , House , Gas , Electric, Water , Food , Rides (cant drive until next surgery) , Phone)
