Help Support Kristin & Family As She Fights Breast Cancer

My dear friend Kristin has been quietly, but courageously, battling breast cancer since last spring. Kristin has always been a dedicated friend, mother, sister, daughter and wife. She absolutely lives for her three children Jaxson 13, Cole 12, and Shay 8. If you know Kristin, you know that she is a kind and caring person, with a courageous heart. But now, she needs our help. Out of respect for her and her immediate family's privacy, she wanted to keep her diagnosis private. While her strength and resilience are inspirational, I know the immense physical and emotional toll this is going to take on her and her family. She is facing a difficult journey, and her and her family need our help with this fight.

Very few people knew it, but in May she received the dreaded phone call that her mammogram was abnormal. After an ultrasound and a biopsy, she quickly received a lumpectomy in June. While this was a significant step in her treatment, the journey is far from over.

Kristin will have to go through 12 weeks of chemotherapy, then 4 weeks of daily radiation and about 10 years of hormone treatment. They already had to pay $2000 out of pocket for part of her treatment that they were told would mostly be covered by insurance.

Unfortunately, that is the families first set back of many that I am afraid they are going to face. Kristin and Jason work hard, but unfortunately paid time off is very limited and disability would not be enough to even support the families daily cost of living. Kristin has already faced days that she did not feel well but still had to go to work. She deserves to take time off to help her recover and to spend time with her family.

While the ongoing medical treatments, unforeseen expenses, and daily living costs are overwhelming, knowing Kristin and Jason, they would never ask for help. So, I'm reaching out on their behalf because they deserve our support now more than ever.
