Support Kimberly’s Fight with Cancer
Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Jess, I'm fundraising for a good friend and wonderful person, Kimberly Vaughn. When you think of Kimberly, all you can do is smile. She has a very playful and loving spirit, she loves to joke and make others laugh! Her passions are photography and painting, but most of all she loves spending time with her two beautiful grandchildren Carter (12) and Mya (9). The three of them have such a beautiful and precious bond.
Kimberly is 51 years old and was recently diagnosed with cancer. It started in September 2023 when a swollen lymph node appeared in her neck that would not go away. Weeks later, after many tests and painful biopsies, the doctors determined she has stage II Head and Neck Carcinoma. She will need seven weeks of chemotherapy, in addition to radiation therapy five days a week. The doctors informed her the treatment would be very brutal on her body. Radiation to the neck will cause food and drink to be unbearably difficult to get down as well as loss of saliva and taste which could lead to requiring a feeding tube due to the pain of not being able to eat. If treatment was not enough, Kimberly also has to have extensive dental work done before she can even begin treatment. If dental issues are not taken care of beforehand they can lead to loss of teeth, necrosis, and loss of her jawbone. Kimberly is facing enormous out of pocket expenses for the life-saving treatments she needs, treatments that will undoubtedly affect her ability to work and provide solely for herself. Kimberly is working hard to remain strong and positive throughout this process; we know she will come through this even stronger than before!
We are immensely grateful for your love, compassion, and support during this challenging time. Your generosity will make a huge difference in her life. Each donation, no matter the amount, each time you share her story, will all help ensure she does not have to worry about all these expenses entirely on her own and can focus on her health, wellbeing and recovery.
