Our daughters, Khloe and Karlee, are headed to the 2025 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Houston, Texas! In their first year of Track and Field Khloe (12) qualified for Junior Olympics in triple Jump and Karlee (10) qualified in Shot Put and Turbo Javelin. Khloe and Karlee plan to represent their home town, Selma,CA and Immanuel Schools, even though they’re attending unattached . Our daughters are an inspiration to us and to so many others!
Karlee is Type 1 Diabetic and insulin dependent. She was diagnosed at 6 years old and has learned how to control her Type 1 Diabetes through growth changes, COVID, going to a new school, bullying, and being extremely athletic! Most people don’t know this but Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease, where the pancreas just stops working correctly, so the option of eating healthier or exercising more to control her diabetes is not an option for her. She constantly battles low blood sugars during sporting events and some days just doesn’t feel as good as she should even though she’s not sick Her persistence to be able to do everything anyone else can do is the amazing and awesome thing!
Khloe is a straight A student, incredible athlete, fantastic artist and has a servants heart. All she wants to do is be kind to others and leave an impression that makes others want to do good in the community too. She volunteers multiple times a year for various non-profit organizations and is always one of the first people to be present for someone in need however she can be. This was Khloe’s first year in track and she started off doing distance running. She tried shot put and discus too, because she wanted to be with her dad-coach, but ultimately moved on to high jump, long jump, and triple jump. She learned how to do all 3 within a week of the last chance JO qualifying meet in Reno, NV. She never fails to surprise us!
Traveling to Houston, TX was not something we thought was going to happen back when they signed up for track and field at Immanuel Elementary. But here we are with less than two weeks to go! We’re asking for donations to help cover the cost of their travel and hotel fees. Any help is appreciated!
God bless,
Joe and Tessa Krumpelman
