Support Johnny's Fight Against Glioblastoma
Donation protected
As many of you know, our dad has been battling glioblastoma- an aggressive and terminal form of brain cancer. He’s undergone two brain surgeries, 2 clinical trials, chemo and radiation, all of which meant traveling far from home and staying in hotels for weeks at a time- which has been a lot to manage financially (and emotionally).
We recently found out that a new tumor is growing in another part of his brain. We’re now looking into a clinical trial that could give him more time and better quality of life- but it requires travel, lodging, and a wheelchair-accessible van to get him safely where he needs to go.
At home, his mobility is declining, and we’re trying to make the house safer and more accessible to give him as much independence as possible. That means ramps, grab bars, bathroom modifications, and other equipment that isn’t covered by insurance. His care needs are also increasing, so we’ve hired someone to help out, and my brother recently quit his job to be home and help take care of him.
It’s hard to ask for help in this way- but it really does take a village. Part of this journey is learning to humble ourselves and ask for help. If you’re able to give, we are beyond grateful. If not, sharing this with others or sending a kind message also means the world.
Funds will go toward:
• A wheelchair-accessible van
• Home accessibility equipment
• In-home caregiving support
• Travel and hotel stays for treatments and clinical trials
• Supporting my brother while he is unemployed to spend as much time as he can at home.
Anything not used directly for our Johnny’s care will be donated to glioblastoma research. Our biggest hope is that fewer families will have to go through this in the future.
Thank you for being part of our village. Your support truly means the world!!!
