Help Support Jody’s Fight Against Lymphoma

Hi everyone,

We’re reaching out to ask for your support and prayers for our beloved Nana, Jody McGinnis. Jody is currently facing her third battle with lymphoma in just five years—with the most recent two diagnoses coming only three months apart. Her strength and spirit remain unshaken, but the road ahead is steep, and she needs all the love and support we can give.

In August of last year, Jody began what was expected to be a 3–5 week stay at Duke Medical Center for a stem cell transplant. However, due to unexpected complications, that stay extended to 19 weeks and 5 days. During those months away from home, the cost of lodging, meals, gas, parking, and basic necessities averaged around $1,000 per week—an overwhelming financial strain on her and her family during an already difficult time.

When Jody finally returned home, she was given the all clear—a moment of hope and celebration for her entire family. But just three short months later, in March 2025, everything changed again. The lymphoma returned.

Jody is now preparing for two more rounds of chemotherapy, followed by another extended stay at Duke Medical Center for a different and more intensive treatment. This phase will require a minimum of 8 weeks away from home, with her husband Rex and family members by her side to help navigate the challenges of treatment and life far from home.

Being away for that long comes with not only physical and emotional hardship, but also significant financial strain. During this time, Jody and Rex will be responsible for essential out-of-pocket expenses such as:

• Lodging

• Food

• Gas and parking

• Daily necessities

• Anything else needed to keep them comfortable, supported, and focused on healing

If you know Jody, you know her heart is bigger than life. She’s a giver, a fighter, and the kind of person who shows up for everyone else—now it’s our turn to show up for her.
