Support JD's Journey to Walk Again
Donation protected
My name is JD & I was admitted to the hospital on 8-18-2025. I have Parkinson’s disease for 25 years and I’m a disabled Navy veteran! I wasn’t able to walk or move my legs.
I will be getting transferred to Sea Pine Rehabilitation Center to try to build strength and get more movement in my legs. I’m able to move them a little bit and stand up with help now, but it’s gonna be a long road to recovery. My birthday is August 25, and I will be spending my birthday here in the hospital or in the rehabilitation center.
We could use help with our bills & gas to get my wife back and forth as it’s a 40-minute drive one way. My wife has taken off the past week of work to make sure she’s been by my side, and I’m not sure how long I will be in the rehabilitation center. It has been very stressful for both of us, and with her taking off time from work and me being on disability 100%, bills are gonna be tight.
If you would like to donate for my birthday or just to help us out, it would be greatly appreciated. The doctors are not 100% sure yet what caused me not to walk or move my legs, but I do have a lot of problems with my lower back and my spine, and it could’ve been the spine damage pressing on my nerve. We’re still waiting for test results. It’s been almost a week. It took a little while for us to get the MRI done as I have a DBS (deep brain stimulation), and if they don’t have the exact instructions, it could kill me.
My Parkinson’s doctor is three hours away from home as that is the closest Parkinson’s doctor in my area. So calling and waiting for responses has been a huge problem. Please also keep us in your prayers for fast healing and recovery!
