Support Jason Hibbs' Mexico Lyme Treatment Journey
Donation protected
Hi everyone! Raquel Ruttan here, Jason Hibbs' littlest sister. We are moving onto the next step in my big brothers fight to beat Lyme Disease, as well as other co-infections from ticks. With his journey beginning back in 2019 when he was bitten by multiple ticks, we seem to have exhausted all treatment options available in Canada. With his condition worsening, it's time to take the fight to Mexico where doctor's have treated Lyme Disease successfully for years!
Jason has always been a courageous person who has, in the past, risked his life to help others. Firefighting was once his passion, but Lyme Disease put him in a wheelchair, forcing an early retirement. Now, even though he is regularly stuck in bed, a chair, and unable to do the simplest task, such as hold a cup to drink from, he still smiles. He still makes others smile and laugh. He encourages others he's met on his journey who are in similar situations to keep going, keep fighting, because things will get better. He may not be showing his bravery through firefighting anymore, but he shows it through his words of encouragement for others.
We hope and pray that one day he will be taking part in firefighting activities, snowboarding with his daughters, and continue to spread awareness and courage to those struggling with Lyme. We pray that going to Mexico for treatment would be the miracle he and his family needs.
Funds raised through this account will go straight to the cost of 6 weeks of treatment, which is currently sitting at $57 000.00 CAN. He will also require money for accommodations, food, PSW services, and travel services. Time is also a factor in his condition, with our current goal to have him to Mexico in July 2025(just a few months away!) We are watching the costs climb quickly and appreciate any and all help we can get. Even if it's as simple as sharing this page with friends and family Please help us spread Jason's story far and wide.
We want to see him walk again
Thank you, with my whole heart, for considering donating to my brothers journey to health.
