This year has tested me in ways I never imagined. I started 2025 in and out of hospitals, searching for answers to a sudden decline in my health. After months of uncertainty, I was diagnosed with liver disease, which is now straining my heart and threatening my future. The impact has been immediate and overwhelming—I’ve been unable to work since March, and every day brings new challenges. I’ve always prided myself on being independent, but the mounting medical bills, daily medications, and constant appointments have drained my savings and forced me to sell my car just to keep up with basic living expenses.


Now, I rely on four different medications each day and the expertise of multiple doctors and specialists. My hope is to get on a transplant list soon, but the process is long, expensive, and filled with uncertainty. The costs of rent, medications, and ongoing medical care are more than I can manage alone. While I’m grateful for the moral support of friends and family, I’m facing the financial burden by myself, and it’s become impossible to keep up.
