Help! Hailey’s Fight Against Terminal Brain Cancer

Dear Family, Friends, and New Friends to come,
My name is Kristine Parker. My sweet, vibrant, kind 24-year-old daughter, Hailey DeSmith-Parker, mother of two beautiful kids, 6-year-old Bryson and 3-year-old Dakota, was diagnosed with stage/grade 4 Astrocytoma, a form of Glioblastoma. Highly aggressive, and requires chemo and radiation. She was a normal, healthy young lady until January 4th, 2026, when she had her first of many seizures. One seizure rendered her unconscious, and after being taken to the emergency room, she remained in ICU for a couple of weeks. At that time, they discovered a 5x3x4 cm tumor on her left frontal lobe. They did a craniotomy, which went well, but not all of it was able to be removed, leaving her as a teenager mentally. She has been understandably undergoing physical therapy, speech therapy, and mental therapy. She will begin intravenous chemotherapy and radiation at UW Madison. She will also be participating in some cancer trials, costing her/us lots of money she cannot afford, not being able to work. I am currently on unpaid LOA, so I can take care of her around the clock. Prior to this, Hailey was a nursing student.

Our/her fears of passing away and leaving a financial burden on us/family. We are raising money to help pay for medical expenses and end-of-life expenses, so our family won’t have to carry such a burden. Any leftover funds will be allocated to her two kids, 6-year-old Bryson and 3-year-old Dakota, in a trust fund to provide stability and support during this incredibly difficult time. We never thought my daughter would need “life insurance” because she was healthy. The unsustainable words “she/you have stage/grade 4 brain cancer” were literally the last thing we thought we would hear. This has left us unimaginably in pieces with grief and pain. I am being told this course of treatment could cause a secondary cancer; however, we haven’t come to terms with the original diagnosis, as it’s difficult and painful. We have remodeled our home to fit her needs, making it more disability accessible for her care. We are asking for help with medical bills and end-of-life expenses.

If you’re unable to donate, please share this and keep our family in your thoughts and prayers, as that will mean more than we could ever express. We are not ready, nor is she ready, to leave this earth yet, but we want to do everything possible to protect her kids and ease future expenses.

Thank you for taking the time to read our/her story and for any kindness you’re able to share.

Sincerely, The Parkers
