Our dear friend, Gordy Johnson needs our support!
Gordy had an accident about 6 weeks ago while mowing his lawn and is having surgery today to remove his left eye. We don’t know how long he will be in the hospital, what we do know is that this is life-changing and expensive. Anyone familiar with Gordy knows how difficult it was to convince him to let us create a “Go Fund Me” page. Basically, we told him we were doing it, so let it go.
Gordy is a proud man, a man of few words but he speaks the truth. He is rough and tough; however, he is also kind and humble, more than the exterior shows. He is always ready to defend and protect, will always have your back-a simple call and he’ll be there. He has touched so many of us in so many ways and now it’s time for us to show him that he matters to all of us.
Recently, when he and Ken got together, they could literally finish each other’s sentences when they were talking about their childhood and all the memories they shared. They got on the phone with Michael G. and the three of them, well, let’s just say the laughter and jokes were flowing. Hey, “1-1,” I got it,”2-6,” something from Hunterdon Central baseball in the 80’s. I got to listen to those baseball stories for at least an hour! There are many stories and shared memories of the boys-Gordy, Ken, Mike, Michael, Steve, Billy, and many other Buddies-that left me roaring and thanking God I was not their mother, lol!
For many years Gordy worked at Hunterdon County Roads and Bridges and was the expert tree guy. He retired and recently started working at Home Depot.
Gordy has always been a pillar in the community, and we know his friends would want to know what he is going through and offer any support they can.
Thank you in advance and please feel free to share this
We love you, “26!”
