My name is Ruby Ortiz Schramm, and I am reaching out on behalf of my youngest son, Gabriel Martinez. Gabriel’s two kidneys have completely shut down. I have already lost my eldest son, Danny Martinez Jr., to kidney failure, and now we are facing this heartbreaking battle once again.

Last year, Gabriel was admitted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital due to complications with a medical port that needed to be replaced. During that stay, his heart stopped at one point, and at another, his breathing stopped. These serious health challenges have taken a heavy toll on our entire family.

Gabriel has now applied for a kidney transplant, and we will be traveling to UCLA in December for consultations and preparation. We expect to make this trip three to four times a week. I am setting up this GoFundMe to ask for support in helping us cover travel, medical, and living expenses throughout this process.
