I'm positively broken-hearted to even be making this GoFundMe account, but I feel it's necessary in order to ensure that Wyatt Lawrence gets the proper burial he most certainly deserves.
3-year-old Wyatt, affectionately known as "Wy-Guy," "Pie," or "Wy-Wy" to his friends & family who loved him so dearly, passed unexpectedly at home on December 30th. Wyatt is the son of Dylan Irvin & Madeleine Drake-Metzger. He loved reading books, cars, his German Shepherd, Ricky B, & most recently, being the proudest big brother in the world to "his" baby, Everett.
Wyatt & his parents were anxiously looking forward to his upcoming February 10th birthday & celebrating it with all his preschool classmates. Sadly, now instead of party planning, they're in the process of making many important, yet difficult & gut-wrenching decisions involved with laying their baby to rest properly.
Having just celebrated Christmas & Madeleine only recently returning to work part-time from maternity leave, you can imagine, their funds are very limited. Unfortunately, at 22 (Dylan) & 20 (Madeleine) years old, thinking about a life insurance policy hadn't even crossed their minds until it's now become an abrupt, harsh reality of theirs.
I'm reaching out in hopes that we can all pull together to help this young family try to begin picking up the pieces of their shattered hearts. Moving forward for them looks very different from life as they once knew it. I'd love nothing more than to know that their lights being kept on & food being put on their table isn't one of their uncertainties.
Having to ring in their new year with such a tragedy isn't for the faint of heart, but if we're able, we can help to lighten this heavy load. It would sincerely lift a giant weight off their shoulders!
I respectfully ask that if you feel so moved as to donate, then please do. It's honestly so greatly appreciated. If you can't afford to do so at this time, then please at least just share this post so we can bring some much-needed relief to Wy-Wy's grieving parents, family & friends.
Thank you & God Bless.
Betsy Milder
