Support for volcano victims
Donation protected
Manos Abiertas Womens' clinic is located 4 miles from the center of the disaster. There is no easy access but we are committed to collecting what is most needed and make it reach the emergency shelters. Local supporters are bringing clothes, food, drinking water and basic hygiene products to our clinic, but there is a big need for medication and other medical supplies. The first few days, as we know from earlier desasters, everybody will be there to help. But then the news will pass and people will be left hanging. We want to make sure that doesn't happen so we are trying to set up this fund for continuous support for the victims. We will post updates on what we use the funds for that are raised.
We will be traveling to the shelters in the area over the next few days to make sure we don't inundate them with unnecessary things. Right now, besides medications we find masks are very important as the poisonous volcano ash is still in the air.
Please help us raise money to relieve the worst of this.
