Support for the Shine-Inzeo Family’s Unexpected Move
Donation protected
**UPDATE**
We are less than $10,000 away from reaching the $30,000 goal we set for this campaign to support the Shine-Inzeo family. Thank you to everyone who has shared and donated! Your response has been awe-inspiring. We wouldn’t be where we are without your generosity.
They have already been able to transfer funds raised to their international moving company, and have paid for safe passage for Loki to arrive safely next weekend.
Please, if you have a moment, help us make a final push by sharing far and wide with your networks. The last mile will pay for Caden’s recent medical bills and set up the family in a new home. Your continued support is deeply appreciated and will help Jenni, Nick, Caden, Eva, and Loki transition as smoothly as possible into their new lives here in Wisconsin. Thank you!”

We’re raising funds to support our dear friends, Jenni Shine & Nick Inzeo, who have had to move back to the United States unexpectedly to support their newborn son. This move follows a difficult pregnancy, in which the Shine-Inzeos were medically evacuated from Vietnam to Bangkok, Thailand, where they spent 4 months getting support for medical complications.
Baby Caden was born with achondroplasia (dwarfism) and while he is doing great, he has already developed complications that required an unplanned spinal surgery at UW Health American Children’s Hospital, where the leading experts for achondroplasia and related procedures are based. Nick, Jenni, and their daughter Eva have moved back to their home state in order to access the best healthcare possible for Caden.
Achondroplasia is the most common type of short-limbed dwarfism. While it's sometimes hereditary, most children with achondroplasia are born with it due to a random genetic mutation, like Caden. Because of this, parents like Jenni and Nick are thrust into an uncertain situation where they need to suddenly become experts in medical care and medication, in order to enable Caden to live as healthy and happy a life as possible.
Caden’s diagnosis and the related complications came unexpectedly, which led to a very hasty move, leaving behind work and the life they built in Vietnam. Jenni and Nick were only able to bring the essentials, and their sweet pup, Loki, is still in Vietnam, patiently waiting to join his loving family in the US.
We’re raising funds to bring Loki to Wisconsin, help cover Nick and Jenni’s moving expenses, and soften the impact of medical expenses as much as possible while they establish insurance and their lives in the US. Anything raised beyond our goal will be used to help set up Nick, Jenni, and their sweet family with furniture, appliances, a car, and other necessities.
Every little bit helps. Thank you so much for your consideration and generosity!
