Hi everyone - My name is Veronica Headley.

I am heartbroken to share that my big brother, Shane Poorman, is currently fighting for his life in a Las Vegas ICU after a sudden and severe medical emergency. He is in a medically induced coma, battling pneumonia and a life threatening blood clot in his lungs. His condition has been unstable, and he has a long road ahead before he is out of danger.

Shane has always been the protector in our family. As a proud member of the O’Chiese First Nation, he has spent his life caring for others by hunting and providing food for the Elders, and building both O’Chiese’s first Fire Department and Emergency Services Department from the ground up. He has devoted himself to keeping his community safe. Now it is our turn to take care of him and it is my hope we can band together to relieve some of the financial stress off of his family.

Because he is too unstable to be moved back to Canada, Shane must remain in the Las Vegas hospital for the foreseeable future. The funds raised will go toward his mounting medical expenses, as well as travel and living costs so his wife, children, and Kohkums can be by his side during this incredibly difficult time.
