Help Support Baby Livia and Her Family Through Her Cancer Journey

Our sweet Livia is just 1 year and 8 months old, and already she has shown the world how strong and resilient she is. From the very beginning of her life, she’s been a fighter — full of light, laughter, and love.

Recently, our family received heartbreaking news: an MRI revealed that Livia has a cancerous tumour. While the CT scan showed no spread to her upper body, further testing and a biopsy have now confirmed that Livia has Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer in her bladder — a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer.

Livia’s treatment journey officially begins, and it will be long and intense. She will undergo 18 months of treatment, which includes chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. Chemotherapy has began at CHEO (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario), and there are two types she will receive. Some treatments will require her to be admitted for 24 hours, while others will allow her to return home the same day.

The medical team will reassess her tumour at week 9 to determine if surgery is needed. Then, at week 13 (the end of September), Livia will travel to Boston for 6–8 weeks of radiation treatment.

Livia underwent a procedure to have an epidural placed to help manage her bladder pain. She’ll remain in the hospital for up to two weeks until her pain can be managed through oral medication. After that, she can return home and continue chemotherapy on an outpatient basis.

Despite all of this, Livia continues to smile, play, and bring joy to everyone around her. Her strength and spirit are truly remarkable.

Livia is the youngest in her family, with a big sister Ivy who adores her, and two incredibly loving parents — Valerie and Justin — who are by her side every step of the way.

As we begin this challenging road, we’re asking for your support — whether it’s through donations, shares, prayers, or kind words. Every little bit helps relieve the financial stress of medical bills, travel expenses, and time off work so her parents can focus fully on Livia’s care and healing.

Soutenez la petite Livia et sa famille dans son combat contre le cancer

Notre douce Livia n’a que 1 an et 7 mois, et pourtant elle a déjà montré au monde à quel point elle est forte et résiliente. Depuis le tout début de sa vie, c’est une battante — pleine de lumière, de rires et d’amour.

Récemment, notre famille a reçu une nouvelle bouleversante : une IRM a révélé que Livia a une tumeur cancéreuse. Heureusement, le scanner n’a montré aucune propagation dans le haut de son corps, mais nous attendons maintenant les résultats de la biopsie pour déterminer exactement le type de cancer auquel elle fait face, ainsi que le plan de traitement à suivre.

Malgré la douleur et l’inconfort, surtout lorsqu’elle va aux toilettes, Livia continue de sourire, de jouer et de trouver de la joie dans ses journées. Sa force nous inspire à chaque instant.

Livia est la plus jeune de sa famille, avec une grande sœur, Ivy, qui l’adore, et deux parents incroyablement aimants et dévoués — maman Valérie et papa Justin — qui sont à ses côtés à chaque étape.

En attendant des réponses et en nous préparant pour le chemin à venir, nous demandons du soutien — que ce soit par des dons, des partages ou des mots gentils. Tous les fonds recueillis iront directement aux soins médicaux de Livia, aux frais de déplacement, et au soutien de ses parents dans cette période extrêmement difficile.
