Support For Officer Zach Butterfield's Family

On Thursday, July 25, 2025 Bradenton Police Officer Zachary Butterfield died by suicide. He leaves behind a wife and two children, ages six and nine.

Zach joined the department in July 2022 following a distinguished career in the United States Coast Guard. He continued his service in the Coast Guard Reserves while proudly serving the Bradenton community. Officer Butterfield was a valued member of the SWAT Team and a recent recipient of the department’s Life Saving Award. He is remembered by his fellow officers for his hard-working attitude, cheerful demeanor, and love for his family.

He leaves behind many who cherished him and they must now navigate life without him. During this difficult time, we kindly ask for support from all who knew and loved him, to help the financial challenges ahead for his family.
