Support for Melanie Leverich & Family

Jody was a dedicated friend and community member who touched many lives. I first met Jody when he joined the Somers Volunteer Fire Department in September 2005. He quickly became known for his willingness to help everyone, whether it was through his work at Lincoln Hall guiding young people or serving the residents of Somers. Jody met and married Melanie, who already had her son Anthony. Jody loved Anthony from the very beginning and later adopted him as his own. Together, Jody and Melanie welcomed their daughter Abygail, and their family was filled with love and support for one another.
Jody worked his way up through the ranks of the Somers Volunteer Fire Department, eventually becoming chief. After his time as chief, he left Lincoln Hall to become a fire inspector in Port Chester, NY, always striving to provide a better life for his family. Eventually, Jody took a position as a fire inspector in Richlands, NC, and the family was able to achieve their dream of home ownership. Melanie stayed home to care for Anthony and Abygail while Jody worked hard to support them.
Jody’s sudden passing has left Melanie, Anthony, and Abygail facing an uncertain future. With Melanie now responsible for the household and two children, they are struggling to cover living expenses like their mortgage and bills. Your support will help Jody’s family stay in their home and begin to move forward during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution will make a meaningful difference as they navigate this loss and work toward a more secure future.
