Support for Jay & Lati after their tragic loss of baby Jrue.

Hello, I've created this gofundme in behalf of my son (Jay Sims), my daughter in law (Lati Williams) and my grandson (Jrue Princeton Sims). It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the devastating news of the loss of our beloved baby boy, Jrue Princeton Sims. Our precious little one was taken from us far too soon, leaving a void that can never be filled.

On May 10, 2024, we all were eagerly anticipating the arrival of our little Jrue. However, what should have been a moment filled with pure joy and excitement turned into a nightmare as complications arose during Lati's labor. After laboring for more than 18 hours, a C-section was recommended due to the severity of the situation. Tragically, after Jrue's birth his heartbeat was very faint and he had to be revived several times, sadly Jrue was not able to take a breath after preforming life saving measurements for more than 30 minutes. Lati had a perfect pregnancy and no complications throughout the entirety of it. At her 36 week check-up, her doctor had concern of Jrue not getting enough nourishment and oxygen so an induction was scheduled. Although against Lati's birth plan, she did everything medically necessary during labor and now the doctors have no answers as to what happed to this beautiful and healthy baby boy.

Jay and Lati, as young first time parents, are now facing the unimaginable task of planning a funeral to lay their son to rest; instead of planning a lifetime filled with pure joy and happiness. In addition to the emotional toll, they are also burdened with unexpected expenses associated with the funeral and other arrangements. This young couple never even got the chance to purchase a life insurance plan for Jrue. In addition, Lati holds a full-time job that is unable to compensate her while being out on maternity leave.

Now not only is she faced with having to heal from a major unexpected surgery, she also has to grieve the loss of their son and will have to be off work for an extended and unexpectantly amount of time. During this very difficult time, we are reaching out for support from our community, friends, family and kind-hearted strangers. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards covering the costs of the funeral services, burial, and other related expenses.
