UPDATE 8/9/25:
We want to begin by saying thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity, prayers, and messages of support have truly carried us through these past few weeks. Knowing how many people care about our mom has brought us comfort and strength in a time of deep uncertainty.

When we first created this fundraiser, we were preparing for Donna’s surgery and a 6–8 week recovery. Sadly, we’ve learned that her battle is far from over.

At her follow up appointment, we received devastating news: the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes. This means that, in addition to healing from major surgery, Donna must now undergo a port implant procedure, followed by both chemotherapy and radiation treatments. This is a much more aggressive treatment plan than we had initially hoped for, and it comes with a longer, more difficult road to recovery.

As many of you know, Donna is self-employed and doesn’t have paid medical leave or backup income. The financial impact of this extended treatment plan — on top of her existing medical bills — is becoming even more overwhelming. Our biggest fear is that she’ll feel pressure to return to work too soon, which could put her health at serious risk.

We’re asking again, humbly and with love, for your continued support — whether it’s by sharing this fundraiser, keeping our mom in your thoughts, or donating if you’re able. Every single act of kindness helps ease the burden on Donna and gives her a better chance at fully focusing on her fight and her healing. Mom is a fighter and will come out on top of this. To put it in her own words: "I'm going to fight like a barracuda and make it through this".

Donna has always been a source of strength for so many — now it’s our turn to be strong for her.

With heartfelt thanks,
Tara, Cory, Sunday, and the whole family

Our mother, Donna Brandon, has been silently battling cervical cancer since her diagnosis just a few months ago. If you know our mom, you know how incredibly strong, selfless, and resilient she is. She’s always the first to lend a hand, support others, and face life head-on—but this time, she needs our help.

Donna is scheduled for major surgery next week and will require significant time to heal—at least 6 to 8 weeks of recovery. As many of you know, she is self-employed, which means she won’t have any income during this critical healing period. We’re deeply concerned that the financial stress may push her to return to work too soon, putting her health and recovery at risk.

Our goal is to support her during this difficult time—physically, emotionally, and financially. We want to lift as much of the burden off her shoulders as we can, so she can focus on healing without the added stress of mounting bills and lost income.

This is going to be a long road, with more doctor’s appointments, follow-ups, and ongoing care. Donna is not only our mother—she’s our rock, our guide, and our biggest cheerleader. She’s also a devoted friend and helper to many in our community, especially our elderly neighbors.

Now it’s our turn to be there for her.

Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward her medical expenses, household bills, and necessities during recovery. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping our mom in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Tara, Cory, Sunday and all of the family
