In 2019, Carlos was diagnosed with Leukemia (AML) at the young age of 17. Unknowingly, his diagnosis was life-changing not only for Carlos but for our family as well. Throughout these past five years, Carlos has been battling cancer and has faced multiple surgeries, countless rounds of chemo/radiation, and a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, Carlos relapsed a third time, which in turn cost him his life. He fought every day for those five years. Carlos demonstrated strength, courage, hope, mental toughness, and resiliency for all those who were around him. He taught us never to give up and always have faith, even when it felt dim.

He was a young man, wise beyond his years, and indeed left an impact on everyone he encountered.
