Support for a New Laptop

Dear Family and Friends,

The morning after my latest showcase "StÄges," a tribute to my dear mother who passed away this April and hope for those battling dis-ease, I found my laptop missing. It wasn't just a device for work; it was a symbol of the love and grace the community and the dance community extended to me during a difficult time in 2021. When my car was broken into before a flight to Dallas, the community rallied together and gifted it to me.

Details: I was editing the showcase video at Hilltop Coffee in Inglewood when the incident occurred. After the editing session, I headed to my car to catch a movie, celebrating the hard work done. Thinking I might have misplaced the laptop hidden in my car, I didn't worry until I discovered it missing after the movie. Using the "Find My App," I tracked the device to a local residence. After, two visits from the police and a few failed attempts by my friends and I after the authorities told me I might have better luck checking myself, the method to retrieve it resulted in nothing but hostility for the homeowners, The police advised me to take my losses, prioritizing my safety.

The Ask: This loss is a major setback, especially as I'm still catching up with missed rent from my time in Dallas with my mother, and a recent bout with shingles. Despite these hardships, I've been reluctant to ask for financial assistance. But the reality is that without your help, replacing my laptop seems impossible.
