Support Fire Captain Jason Hudson After Tragic ATV Accident
Donation protected
On 4/19/25 Fire Captain Jason Hudson of the Union Road Fire Department in Gastonia, NC, was involved in a devastating ATV accident while spending time with his children. The four-wheeler rolled over three times, pinning Jason beneath the thousand-pound vehicle.
He was rushed to the Gaston County hospital with critical injuries, and then sent to Atrium Hospital in Charlotte. Here is the list of his critical injuries:
• 9 broken ribs on one side, 3 on the other
• Crushed sternum
• Deep gashes under his chin and on the back of his neck
• 12 staples and 12 sutures to his head, face, and neck
• Multiple broken teeth
• Fractured orbital bone around his eye, broken left scapula and a fractured T2 vertebra
• Possible ankle damage
• He underwent a 7 hour surgery on 4/23 where 9 plates were secured to his ribs to hold them in place.
Doctors are doing everything they can, and thankfully, there is some good news: there is no swelling in his brain and there are no signs of any brain damage.
Jason is not only a fire captain—he’s a dedicated husband and father of two young children. His wife is now facing the unimaginable: supporting her husband through a life-threatening recovery while caring for their kids and dealing with overwhelming emotional and financial strain.
This tragedy comes less than a month after another heartbreak—the family is still mourning the recent loss of Jason’s father-in-law on March 23rd.
We are asking for your help. Whether through prayers, a donation, or by simply sharing this page, your support means everything.
Your contribution will help cover:
• Medical expenses
• Travel and lodging for his family while he’s in Charlotte
• Lost wages
• Childcare and day-to-day needs during Jason’s recovery
Jason has spent his life in service—rushing into danger to protect others. Now, it’s our turn to stand by him.
Please keep Jason, his wife(my little sister), and their children in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for helping them through this fight. Thank you for praying for our family in this difficult time in our lives.
His loving sister-in law,
