Hello, my name is Faith and I'm raising funds for my mother Diane's funeral. Her mom and dad (my grandparents) have long passed, which leaves me to make her final preparations. She unfortunately didn’t have an advanced directive, trust, or any sort of end-of-life planning in place. I usually don’t do these things or ask for money, but due to the circumstances and her passing being so sudden, I'm reaching out to the community for any help possible.

Sadly, my mother struggled for a very long time with substance abuse and addiction. My mom without the substances was kind, sweet, loving, and such the ride or die if you were her friend. Without the substances she was the coolest mom, she took me to my first concert, did my make-up and hair for my first dance, she's the reason I love horror movies and love alternative rock and metal. I used to say I didn’t want to be like her, due to the circumstances, but turns out I'm more like her than I thought after hearing stories from her friends of how she used to be.

I continued to hope she would get better, that maybe we could have a relationship or work towards something of that. Unfortunately, she couldn't overcome those demons, and I had to make the tough decision to keep my distance after her dad died in 2011 for my own safety and mental health. Even though I kept my distance, I still hoped that maybe one day she would turn around and get it together. I always wanted the best for her, always hoped she would want the best for herself. Even though we didn't have the best relationship, she still deserves a nice service, and it’s what her parents would have wanted.
