Support Diane Blevins' Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Thank you for taking the time to stop and meet Diane Blevins. Diane is a mother to 5, and a grandmother to 9 who was just diagnosed with an advanced form of cervical cancer, and will be undergoing emergency surgery this week to perform a full hysterectomy and lymph node removal.

Diane is the only caretaker for her disabled husband, who has experienced multiple strokes in the last few years and has limited mobility. She has been in the Affordable Housing industry for several years and dedicates her life to helping those who are less fortunate in finding safe, clean housing and helping all of her tenants with finding resources for food, medical, and basic living needs.

She has always been very active and enjoys spending time with her kids and grandkids. One of her favorite past times is getting to play Bingo, and especially enjoys when her children are able to join her.

Diane’s cancer journey started some time ago, but in the last few months reared its ugly head and has completely disabled her life. She has suffered from a pulmonary embolism and extensive bleeding which has landed her in and out of hospitals to endure multiple blood transfusions and testing. A little over a week ago it was determined that all of our fears were true and her battle was in fact with the dreaded “Cancer”.

As the only caretaker for her household, Diane has had to endure extreme stress with trying to keep working and taking care of not only her husband, but also their three dogs; Lily, Lola, and Fred. With so many procedures, appointments, and the fact that she continues to lose so much blood daily to the point that she has to get a blood transfusion every week (sometimes multiple in a week) she has been unable to work enough to stay on top of her bills.

She will be undergoing emergency surgery this week, but this is just the beginning of her real struggle. We are reaching out to try and assist her with her daily and monthly expenses while she fights for her life to stay alive to get the opportunity to watch her oldest granddaughter graduate high school this year, and to see her youngest son find the love of his life and welcome even more grandchildren. Her journey is not done, and anything will help with keeping her strength and courage up to fight until she is cured!
