On Friday, July 18, Detective William Morris, a dedicated member of the New Orleans Police Department, was seriously injured in the line of duty while attempting to conduct a traffic stop in the French Quarter. As he carried out his commitment to protect and serve, Detective Morris was intentionally struck by the vehicle, resulting in severe injuries that have left him hospitalized and facing a long road to recovery. Detective Morris is not just a law enforcement officer - he is a husband, father, friend, and community hero who has consistently gone above and beyond to keep our city safe. His injuries will prevent him from returning to work for an extended period, placing a significant financial burden on his family.
