Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

We thank God for His blessings and guidance. Our church family at Debre Tsehay Kidist Selassie Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Calgary gathers every Saturday to worship and serve God with love and faith.

We now have over 100 members and more than 60 children who attend our Saturday liturgy each week. The children learn the Word of God, sing hymns, and grow in their faith.

Because we rent a small space, we face many challenges. Every Saturday, we must set up the altar, prepare the Holy Sacraments, and arrange the church items before the service. After the liturgy, we carefully remove and store everything again. This work is done with joy, but it reminds us that we still do not have a permanent home where the Holy items can stay in place and worship can continue freely.

As the Bible says:

“The God of heaven will help us succeed. We, His servants, will start rebuilding this work.”

— Nehemiah 2:20

Now, we are raising funds to build or buy a permanent home for our church — a place for worship, teaching, and community.
