Help David Fight AML and Cover His Medical Expenses

Our family is asking for your support as my father, David, faces an incredibly difficult battle against acute myeloid leukemia (AML) a rare and aggressive blood cancer.

David’s specific case is complex. He has FLT3-ITD–positive AML with a DEK::NUP214 fusion, along with additional somatic mutations in WT1, KRAS, NRAS, and ETV6. Some of these genetic markers carry unknown or poor prognostic significance, meaning his form of AML is particularly resistant to treatment and requires close monitoring and advanced therapies. The FLT3-ITD mutation, even though detected at a low variant allele frequency, still increases the risk of relapse and impacts his overall prognosis, especially when combined with WT1 mutations.

Despite the uphill battle, David continues to show courage, faith, and determination. He’s undergone numerous hospitalizations, transfusions, and treatments, each one taking a physical and emotional toll. The medical bills, travel costs, and ongoing care expenses have become overwhelming for our family.

Hospital stays, chemotherapy, and genetic testing

Medications and home care supplies

Travel and lodging for out-of-town appointments. We are currently in Detroit 3 days a week.

David has always been a source of strength and generosity to others, he's a man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. Now, it’s our turn to help him.
