Hi I’m Hollie, and Daphne is my six-year-old pitbull. I adopted her in May 2021 when she was about a year and a half old, and giving her a happy life has been the best part of my twenties.
On October 2nd, I had to rush Daph to the emergency vet after I noticed swelling around her neck and chest that appeared overnight. I thought it was an allergic reaction, but it turned out to be B-cell lymphoma. This is a type of cancer that isn't too uncommon in dogs, but we were shocked since she’s still so young.
The oncologist offered a full chemo plan at a cost of $15,000. This was extremely out of the realm of my financial capabilities, and would be really hard on her body. Instead, I chose a less invasive treatment so she can stay comfortable at home and still have good, happy days.
Unfortunately, my pet insurance denied the majority of my claims. I’m now about $6,000 in debt from emergency care, tests, and medication. It’s been a lot to handle both emotionally and financially, but I’m doing everything I can to take care of her.
I’m reaching out here to ask for any help, big or small, to ease some of the financial pressure. Any amount of help through this GoFundMe would lift a huge weight for me, and go directly towards Daphne’s care. Thanks for listening, sharing, or donating.
