Support Dale's Medical Transport to Indianapolis
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cammy Mauzy and I am Lora Miller’s sister-in-law. I have known Lora and her family for many years and they are truly some of the nicest people you could wish for as family and friends.
As you may have heard, Lora flew out to Anna Maria Island on March 1st to meet up with her parents, David and Le Burgett, and her brother, Dale Burgett, who drove from Indiana. They were all looking forward to this vacation.
Unfortunately, David, Le, and Dale fell ill with Flu A on their 2nd day of travel. Dale ended up in the hospital on March 4 with kidney failure that progressed to liver failure and was not expected to survive without a liver transplant, but against all odds, he is now recovering.
David was admitted on March 8 with new onset A-fib on top of Flu A and was released after 1 week. Le was lucky to be able to recover outside of the hospital, but it is still a slow recovery for her as well. Lora was also admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and A-fib but was released a day later. Thankfully, Lora’s son Zac flew down to support them all for over a week.
They are hoping and planning to get Dale back to Indianapolis as soon as possible. Dale is currently dealing with liver and kidney issues and requires ongoing care, rehab, and dialysis. They do have a good option using Grace On Wings, which is an air ambulance service based on donations (graceonwings.org). However, they would be responsible for ground ambulance transfers and jet fuel. Roughly, the cost is expected to be around $17,000.00. Any donations would go directly to the process of bringing Dale home so he can be treated near his family. Any donations will be for this purpose, and would be greatly appreciated. I would love to see our community come together to assist them in their time of need. Each and every donation, no matter the amount, is appreciated. Prayers are appreciated as well.
Thank you,
